Music Broker Scandinavia (MBS)
The Farmen catalog represents Norwegian independent label that operated from 1996 through the mid-2000s.
Founded by Remo Rehder and Erik Brataas as an artist-focused alternative to the mainstream, the label made music history with the release of Kaizers Orchestra's hugely successful albums "Ompa til du dør" (2001) and "Evig Pint" (2003), which stand as landmarks in modern Norwegian rock. This breakthrough enabled Farmen to build an international roster, including the award-winning blues guitarist Bjørn Berge.
The collection is defined by authentic, guitar-driven music with a strong emphasis on songwriting.
Its sound is anchored in rock, from the unique "Ompa Rock" of its flagship band to the rockabilly of Rex Rudi.
The catalog is also rich in virtuosic blues, represented by Bjørn Berge's powerful style, and the distinct singer-songwriter tradition, highlighted by the quirky and beloved Norwegian artist Tønes.
Together, these works form a vital and diverse archive of a dynamic period in modern Norwegian independent music.
